With the ControllerST_torque program, you can test if the Torque Sensor on your Bafang Ultra Motor is functioning.
You will need the following to do this:
Bafang USB Programming Cable
A computer running Windows 7 or Windows 10 with admin rights that can be located/relocated to be near the bike
Download the file attached to this page and extract the contents.
ControllerST Application.zip
727.4 KB
ch341ser.exe
227.6 KB
Step 1
Remove the battery/ both batteries (on a DUO) from your bike and connect your bike to the Windows computer.
Watch the above video if you need help doing this
Once the bike is connected to the computer reinstall the battery on to your bike
If you have a Duo bike you only need to install one battery
Step 2
Open the "controllerst_torque.exe" program in the folder you downloaded in the first step as an Administrator
You will need to Right-Click the program and select "Run As Administrator" to do this
Select the correct COM Port and click the "Connect" button. This will initiate the link between the computer program and your eBike!
Navigate to the "Torque" tab at the top of the window
Click the "Continuous Get" button at the bottom of the window
Lift the rear wheel off the ground by pivoting weight onto the kickstand. Apply torque to the crank arms. If the torque sensor is functioning properly you will see values change in the About Tq section.
Light pedalling may not be enough to get a signal from the torque sensor - you need to apply some force to the pedals.
When done disconnect your bike from the program with the "Close" button located by the "Connect" button. Unplug your bike from the computer.
