Depending on your bikes fork the fender may be attached in a different way. There are two main forks on this model of bike: RST Guide and the Biktrix Inverted.
RST Guide Instructions:
Before starting locate the hardware needed to install the fender
- 2x M5 bolts (on the bottom of the fork) + Locknut x 2 + Washers
- 1x M6 Bolt with nut on the top of the fork + Washers x 2
This hardware may also be found in a bag in the tool/charger box
Correctly orient the fender first in preparation for fastening it to the fork - see this picture to see how the fender stays should be orientated - to the rear section of the fender.
Connect the headlight wires to the headlight and make sure the headlight is turning on before proceeding any further forward - we will be installing the headlight with the fender. If the headlight does not initially power on switch the wires and try again.
Attach the fender and headlight to the upper mount of the fork in the following order: Washer, Headlight, Fork, Fender, Washer then locknut. You can see how these are orientated in the following picture:
Attach the fender stay eyelets to the lower mounts on each side of the fork as shown in the picture below:
Your fender is now fully installed.
Biktrix Inverted Instructions:
Before starting locate the following hardware required for fender installation:
- 6mm Bolt x 2
First note the correct orientation of the fender - the shortest side will face the front of the bike and the longest part will go under the downtube.
Connect the headlight wires and ensure the headlight is turning on. If the light does not power on switch the wires and try again.
Remove each bolt from the crown and line up the fender.
Take one bolt and at the front hole attach the fender in the following order: Bolt, Fender, Light, Washer(s), Fork. Screw the bolt in a few threads but not fully yet!
Take the second bolt and line it up with the hole on the back of the crown. Attach in the following order: Bolt, Fender, Washer, Fork. Thread the bolt in a few turns.
Once the fender is attached fully thread in the front and back bolts and tighten them with a 5mm Allen key. Ensure the headlight is lined up vertically when tightening the front bolt.
If the headlight mount and the fender mount do not steer clear of the head tube base add more washers to the front bolt to increase spacing as seen in the picture below.
