How to get the best range from your battery on an eBike Follow
- DO make sure your battery is fully charged before heading out on a ride.
- DON’T use the throttle or high PAS levels constantly. More throttle and higher PAS will drain the battery quicker. Use lower PAS and less throttle for more mileage.
- DO pedal harder- especially if starting from a full stop.
- DON’T stop and start constantly. Starting from a full stop will use more battery especially on a higher PAS setting.
- DO ride slower while riding into the wind - wind resistance can really drain the battery.
- DON’T carry extra heavy baggage if it's not needed. Less weight on the bike means better mileage.
- DO shift your gears to use the right one for where you are pedalling. Use the lowered numbered gears for riding up hills and higher numbered ones for cruising on flat ground.
- DO make sure your tire pressure is correct. Generally a higher pressure means less rolling resistance and an easier ride!
- Recommended tire pressure is different for different tires. The recommended range for the tire will be stamped on the side of it. If in doubt, contact us!
- DO take care of your battery- store it at room temperature while not in use.
- DO make sure your brakes are properly adjusted and the pads are not rubbing on the rotors.
- DON’T hit bumps on the road - avoiding bumps will keep your speed constant and will use less battery power.
- DO oil your chain when needed - less resistance will lead to improved pedalling efficiency and better motor plus drivetrain efficiency.
- DO try and gain as much speed as possible before climbing a hill and use that speed to climb the hill as far as you can before needing to use the electric motor.
- DO keep your head up and anticipate terrain to use appropriate gearing and ride the best driving line to keep speed up and use less motor for acceleration.
