How to fix brake sensor errors?

Follow this guide for steps on resolving your brake sensor errors
To perform these fixes you will need a 2mm Allen Key and a 7mm wrench.
Symptoms

  • Throttle and/or PAS do not work

  • Error 37 on some older Stunner LT bikes

  • Error 03 on some bikes with Bafang Motors

  • The above symbol stays on the screen after you release your brakes

Step 1

The first step is to determine which brake cutoff switch is causing the issue

  1. Trace the wires coming from each brake sensor - they will be thinner wires with a connector about 6"/150mm from the brake handle
  2. Disconnect both (Right and Left connectors) brake cut-off switches.
  3. Ride the bike for a few minutes/ 1km/ 0.5mile and see if the issue reoccurs. If the motor stops cutting out then there might be an issue with either one of the switches (Right OR Left), proceed to the next steps.
  4. Connect the Right-hand side brake cut-off switch. Leave the left brake cut-off switch disconnected and ride the bike for a few minutes/ 1km/ 0.5mile and see if the issue reoccurs. If the issue reoccurs there is a problem with the right switch.
  5. Connect the Left-hand side brake cut-off switch. Leave the right-hand side brake cut-off switch disconnected and ride the bike for a few minutes/1km/ 0.5mile and see if the issue reoccurs. If the issue reoccurs there is a problem with the left switch.
You should now know if the left, right, or both brake sensors are causing problems. Follow through the next steps of this guide to fix them!
